Pakistan has established manufacturing clusters, often concentrated by product: Faisalabad for textiles, Sialkot for sporting goods and surgical instruments, and Lahore and Gujranwala for packaging and light manufacturing. Knowing where a product is typically made helps you find the right suppliers faster.
Start with a clear specification
Factories price what they can see. A specification with materials, dimensions, tolerances, packaging and quantity attracts accurate quotes; a vague request attracts wide price ranges and follow-up questions.
Verify before you commit
Check business registration, export history, references and, where relevant, certifications that the supplier can actually document. Order a sample before volume production, and agree inspection criteria in writing.
Agree terms early
Settle Incoterms, payment structure and lead time before production. Common structures include letters of credit and advance-plus-balance payments; each shifts risk differently between buyer and seller.
Consider a sourcing partner
A sourcing partner can reduce communication friction and coordinate samples, inspection and documents, though you should confirm exactly which of those steps they perform themselves and which they coordinate through third parties.
